This role requires exceptional organization skills, with above average interpersonal skills, to manage and balance multiple priorities. The qualified candidate must possess the ability to analyze and act on manufacturing and engineering data and improve efficiencies.

Specific Responsibilities:

Work with Product Marketing/Product Development to specify, design and transfer to manufacturing new and novel PV module designs.

Work with equipment vendors and material suppliers from an R&D perspective

Design and conduct various R&D experiments that lead to improved efficiencies.

Analyze data and discerning trends

Present updates and action plans to upper management

Skills and Experience:

BS degree (minimum) in Materials Science or Materials Engineering, with a background in polymers and metals.

Process development experience, with specific experience in statistical methods for process design and optimization i.e. design of experiments

Structural analysis experience

Project management experience

Exceptional communications skills

At least 5 years previous work experience in preferably the photovoltaic module fabrication industry

Sensors Engineer

(E30806.2)

In this newly created role, qualified candidate will develop sensor solutions for string ribbon crystal growth furnaces.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for defining the sensor functional requirements, identifying external sources for the sensors, and confirming that the sensors meet the requirements.
  • Designing and sourcing the signal processing electronics for the sensors.
  • Diagnosing the root cause of sensor performance gaps and proposing alternative solutions.
  • Work closely with the controls engineer to improve the overall performance of the control scheme.

Skills and Experience:

  • M.S. or Ph.D. in Physics or Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
  • 10 years experience in developing sensor solutions for complex physical phenomena.

Crystal Growth Engineer

(E30806.1)

Serve as a lead technologist developing novel silicon crystal growth processes for photovoltaic applications.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the conceiving of novel growth processes.
  • Creating a scientific understanding of the phenomena involved in silicon crystal growth, measuring the performance of growth systems.
  • Diagnosing the root cause of process problems and proposing and implementing solutions to improve performance.

Skills and Experience:

  • Ph.D. in Materials Science or related discipline.
  • Record of research and development accomplishments in the area of crystal growth.

5-10 years experience in crystal growth processing.

Senior Engineer – Avionics

This is an experienced level position where the incumbent must possess an advanced level of engineering knowledge, and be fully competent in all conventional aspects of broad areas of technical assignment.

Technical tasks at this level are in areas where technical requirements are understood, but design implementation is not defined, are of substantial complexity, and involve the development of new improved techniques and procedures. Project assignments may require the planning, scheduling and coordinating of tasks of significant scope or complexity with other departments or programs and frequent customer contact to explain methods, techniques or for the presentation of data to resolve issues or provide solutions to technical problems.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent scientific discipline with 6 8 years of experience to be proficient in the above areas or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Incumbents must possess intensive and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices in broad areas of assignments and related fields. Avionics or E/O experience a plus. Security clearance required.

Senior Engineer – Laser

The ideal candidate should have experience with all facets of laser system testing, systems integration, and transition to production. Specific technology experience includes Diode Pumped Solid State Laser systems and wavelength diverse laser systems. Familiarity with diode pumped Nd: YAG based systems is a must and experience with military systems is strongly preferred. Direct experience with laser designator and rangefinder systems is highly desirable. Most important is related experience toward transition of new designs to operational products. The candidate will work hands on, with both internal and external development teams to support the transitioning of laser products from development to production.
The central role that the candidate will fulfill is that of a laser test and manufacturing engineer working for the Engineering department. The person we select must have the capability to set up and perform laser system testing as the component and system level. Generation of documentation (Test Procedures and Assembly instructions) used as the manufacturing level will also be required. Proposal support to include estimation, planning, and technical writing is a plus.
Education/Experience Required:
The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Physics or similar technical discipline and 6 or more years related experience.

Principle Laser Engineer

The ideal candidate should have experience with all facets of laser system design, analysis, and transition to production. Specific technology experience includes Diode Pumped Solid State Laser systems, various flash-lamp pumped laser system architectures, and wavelength diverse laser systems. Familiarity with Nd:YAG and ER:Glass based systems is a must, and alternate technologies associated with military systems a plus. Direct experience with laser designator and rangefinder systems is highly desirable. The person we select for this important position must have the capability to perform sensor and system analysis utilizing both industry standard models or developing custom models when necessary, development of design solutions for customer problems, and transition these designs to operational products. Provide technical leadership within laser programs, coordinate and work with both internal and external development teams and be the primary focus for the transitioning of laser products from development into production. Proposal support to include estimation, planning, and technical writing is a plus. Requires Master’s degree in Physics or similar technical discipline and 3 or more years’ related experience.
