Device/Yield Engineer

Responsibilities:  Currently, the Micromachined Products Division has a Device Yield Engineering position available. This position will collaborate with Process and Product Engineers to identify and diagnose defect-induced yield and manufacturability problems and implement solutions; develop physical models for key defect and yield-loss mechanisms; support the development, evaluation, and transfer into manufacturing of new MEMS products and processes; manage the E-Test area which includes mentoring and consulting with other engineers in the group as the creation of new test structures and programs to support new fab processes.

Specific responsibilities would include, but are not limited to:

 

Work with Process and Product Engineers to identify and diagnose yield and manufacturability problems and implement solutions

Develop physical models for key yield loss mechanisms

Support the development, evaluation and transfer into manufacturing of new products and processes

Support manufacturing interface with design community by developing design rules and analyzing production data

Support yield improvement efforts on Micromachined products in fab, trim, assembly and test.

Lead TQM teams for yield improvement across all manufacturing areas

 

Basic Qualifications:  BSEE or physics 10+ years work experience or MSEE with 8+ years of experience preferred

Industry experience in semiconductor physics and process integration required

Sr. Analog IC Designer

Responsibilities:  Position will be as a senior analog design engineer and manager. Responsibilities will include: Analog and mixed-signal IC design, product definition, new product evaluation/debug, contribution to datasheets, and management/mentoring responsibilities. Specifically, job entails design of novel mixed-signal products, working with applications to develop new product definitions, contribution to datasheets, directing layout of designs, and evaluation of designs using characterization data along with bench performance. Candidate should be confortable working with a cross-discipline team to define, design/engineer, debug, and release products. Primary mission of our team is to sustain our dominant market share in the metering market, to diversify into new markets, and to engage in customer specific ASICs. Understanding of sigma-delta modulators and comfort with signal processing is a plus. Knowledge of how to define, engineer, and bring new products to market are a must. 

 

 

Basic Qualifications:  7+ years experience in analog/mixed-signal. Experience with bringing multiple successful products to market is required. Candidate should be familiar with sigma-delta converters and comfortable with signal processing. An understanding of device physics and fabrication technology/processing is desirable. Experience with PLLs, Oscillators, thermal monitoring and/or LDO designs is a plus. 

Acoustics Engineer

Responsibilities:  The Micromachined Products Division currently has an opening for a Senior Acoustics Engineer. This position will support the development of MEMS microphone products. This position will provide leadership in defining product specifications, characterizing new product performance and conceiving novel, next generation technologies for a diversity of applications.

The main responsibilities would be:

 

Acoustics design and simulation of acoustic products using MEMS technology

-Characterization of MEMS acoustic products

-Building an acoustics test capability in MPD

-Liaise with customers to define emerging requirements and new product opportunities

-Support development of new MEMS fab, packaging and test technologies for acoustic applications

-Knowledge of acoustics, including experience with ECM microphones in consumer applications is required.

Design Verification/ Validation Engineer

Responsibilities:  Responsible for development and execution of design verification plans for MEMS products. This would entail developing said plan with input from an interdisciplinary project team and will act as the primary executer of the plan. Tasks in the plan include design verification with followup of wafer or open package probe/measure experiments for determining production readiness of a product. The successful candidate will configure suitable tools, instrumentation, equipment, etc. necessary to execute the evaluation plan in a timely manner and would be responsible for validating the experimental data and preparing a comprehensive final report. 

 

 

Basic Qualifications:  Minimum BSEE degree with Two years experience in semiconductor design environment. Experience with Cadence IC workstation design tools and device-level simulators such as SPICE., ability to read circuit layouts with corresponding schematic diagrams, familiar with common sub-circuits such as gates, flops, gain stages, current sources, differential inputs, etc., understands MOS and bipolar device-level operation to first order, able to perform die-level probing of internal nodes, measure electrical parameters with suitable instrumentation, and prepare/present clear documentation. 

CAD Engineer

Responsibilities:  Work on a CAD team to develop state of the art Process Design Kits (PDKs) and provide technical CAD support for the mixed-signal design community at the company. A thorough understanding of IC design flows and their components is needed, including schematic entry, layout and verification, preferably with experience in one or more of these. With the ever-increasing complexity of designs we require an energetic and innovative engineer to improve the existing methodologies used to develop and QA our CAD collateral into a competitive development advantage. 

 

Basic Qualifications:  BSEE with a strong computer science background and a detailed understanding of Custom and Semicustom IC design and layout. Design Engineer

Lead Design Engineer for Class D Amplifier ICs used for digital audio applications using CMOS and hi-voltage (30V ro 60V) DMOS processes in the 5W to 100W power range. Device feature sizes in the range of 0.6 micron to 0.35 micron. The position is part of the Digital Audio Product Line. 7-15 years experience. Work will be targeted at sigma/delta PDM modular designs and Power Stage Designs as well as systems level definition and architecture for Class D amplifiers. All work will include architecture, design, and verification will include some implementation work. Expected Job Knowledge: Gate-drive and level-shifters for hi-and-lo side power FETs; Power FET designs; PWM and PDM techniques; Over-current, thermal shutdown, and 'data loss' protection circuits; Click-free startup and power-down, techniques; Team Leadership of multi-site design teams of 3-5 engineers; Work with the physical (layout) engineering to finalize layout for tapeout; Manage silicon evaluation.

Hardware Engineer

Duties/Tasks/Essential Functions

Duties include the design of complex FPGA's using industry standard tools and Verilog HDL, and in addition, participation in the system verification phase of product development. Design taks include the creation of Functional Specs from system requirements , Micro Architecture Specs, physical partitioning, Verilog HDL implementation, FPGA synthesis, place and route and timing covergence. System verification tasks include the creation of Feature Lists, Test Plans and design verification tests aimed at exercising multiple chips/sub-systems.

Sr. RF Engineering Architect

The position is for a Senior RF Engineer to work as part of the Wireless Test Instrumenation Design team. The candidate must provide technical leadership in the design of cost efficient high performance microwave modules for automated test equipment in the frequency range from DC to18 GHz. The candidate will work with the product development team to formulate the specifications for the product and he must be able to communicate effectively in both oral and written form critical technical information regarding RF and electrical system design and performance. The individual must be able to work well in a group environment and coach junior engineers. Also, the candidate will be required to work with the new product introduction group as the product goes from fabrication, test, qualification, and release to production.

BSEE, MSEE  preferred. The ideal candidate should have at least 10 years experience in the test equipment industry. Experience with the latest techniques in microwave module design (chip and wire, substrate, flip chip, shielding, etc.) and circuit design (pin diode switches, couplers, filters, amplifiers, etc.) are required. Working knowledge of system and circuit level simulation is also required (ADS, and Eagleware  experience is preferred).

Sr. Reliability Engineer

You will be responsible for defining, implementing and verifying system and/or sub-system level reliability performance for our ion implanter (capital equipment) product line.   Will perform in-house training and mentoring of a multi-discipline engineering staff.  Development of reliability testing strategies including; HALT, HASS and accelerated life testing.  Development of field failure data reporting systems for use in refining product reliability models and driving engineering product improvement programs.  

 

BSEE, BSME, or Physics (MS preferred).   Minimum of 10 years experience in a reliability engineering role engaged in the manufacturing of capital equipment and/or aerospace/space industry.  Proficient in the following reliability engineering areas:  Design for Reliability, Design for Test, HALT, HASS, Accelerated Life Testing, FMEA, FRACAS.

Sr. Electrical CAD Engineer

Descriptions & Responsibilities: 

Perform design review, critical PCB layout and circuit/PCB analysis on challenging high speed digital and RF Circuit designs. Ensure that electrical design meets design intent and project performance criteria, and generate packaging implementation (PCB, MCM, Hybrid, etc.) that ensures design intent and performance are realized in the hardware. Supervise CAD designers as required to complete non-critical parts of the layouts. Analyze and characterize integrated design (electrical and packaging implementation) prior to fabrication.

Descriptions & Responsibilities: 

Advance the leading edge of multiple packaging technologies as part of a talented and dynamic technical team in a technical leadership role. Sr. Mixed Signal Engineer

The applicant for this position should have demonstrated competence in digital, mixed-signal, and/or programmable logic design, analysis, simulation, and test. A thorough understanding of high speed PCB designs is also required. The applicant should be an expert with HDL-based design including simulation, synthesis and place and route tools for FPGAs. Principal Engineer – E/O Lasers – Avionics

The ideal candidate should have experience with all facets of laser system testing, systems integration, and transition to production. Specific technology experience includes diode pumped solid state laser systems and wave length diverse laser systems. Familiarity with diode pumped Nd:YAG based systems is a must and experience with military systems is strongly preferred. Direct experience with laser designator and rangefinder systems is highly desirable. Most important is related experience toward the transition of new designs to operational products. The candidate will work, hands-on, with both internal and external development teams to support the transitioning of laser products from development into production. The central role that the candidate will fulfill is that of a laser test and manufacturing engineer working for the Engineering Department. The person we select must have the capability to set up and perform laser system testing at the component and system level. Generation of documentation (Test Procedures and Assembly instructions) used at the manufacturing level will also be required used at the manufacturing level will also be required. Proposal support to include estimation, planning, and technical writing is a plus.

Sr. Electrical Engineer – Control Systems

You will contribute to the development of control systems for our next generation ion implanter products. Responsibilities include design, characterization, reliability testing and release of new sub-systems and products. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of executing complex control systems designs for large-scale capital equipment.

 

BSEE (MSEE preferred) with a minimum of 4-7 years of work experience. Must have “hands on” experience with the following tools: Lab equipment. Servo control systems, LabView, Matlab, Excel, Pspice, Innoveda. ASIC and EPLD design experience is a plus. Must be able to handle multiple projects at the same time and work as part of a multi-discipline team.

Electrical Engineer

Support the design and development of medical instruments as a contributor in the area of electrical/electronic engineering. Design and develop circuits for embedded systems in both analog and digital disciplines. Responsibilities would include circuit design, schematic capture, creation of BOM’s, sourcing of components, supporting board layout and test and debug of the design. Position requires the ability and willingness to properly document designs in a FDA, GMP and ISO environment.

Requirements: BSEE minimum and 5 years experience in a related field. Must be self-motivated and be able to work independently. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Must have experience in schematic capture, OrCad schematic capture a plus, microprocessor circuit design, some analog experience. Ideal candidate would be from the medical field and have a motion control background, stepper and/or servo motors and have taken several designs from concept through production.

Principal Engineer

This position will be responsible for systems design of FLIR and laser range finder/designator systems. This includes system architecture, systems synthesis, performance analysis, signal/image processing algorithm development. Duties also include the development and maintenance of design and analysis tools for the Systems Engineering department. The candidate must have experience with systems engineering process including requirements development, allocation, and maintenance.
